We were given the opportunity to produce an item for SBS’s popular “Small Business Secrets” strand, and we pitched a story about how scientists at Southern Cross University were working to produce coffee bushes that worked well for Australian coffee growers in a bid to grow the country’s coffee production industry. We wanted to find a grower – but when we found Tibor Pinci, who grows coffee on a small holding near Coffs Harbour and roasts it with a flame thrower, producer Sandra Fulloon decided it was worth doing the story in two parts so we could feature more about this unique man. And that what we did.
In the second story, we met two scientists working on the project and a cafe owner who loves selling Australia-grown coffee.
